Scott, You (the company, that is) would be doing some of us a great favor if KBM sold a pack of the special detailing parts separately. For example, on this early phase U25C: www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=826479 note that NP added the cooling coil on the roof. You'll have to make one of these for the later NP U25C's. I'd like to add them to my AHM models. These kind of parts may also be need for U boats for other roads. I expect that the special parts will be run on one or two common sprues and be separate from the generic parts and body. This being the case, I recommend/request that KBM make each sprue available in a plastic pack--no need to spend for labor to separate them, index them....... Anyway, KBM could make a few extra bucks and we modelers could be a bit happier. Ed

Good to hear you are still intersted in doing the Juice car, but there have been no plans published in any magazines/intenet site that I know of about the car. Your best bet is to contact the builder and talk to them about the plans, most are usually pretty easy going about it are happy to help and it also protects you legal wise from any fall out if you make the cars without permission. Also don't forget the Logo (Tropicana) is owned by Pepsico, you probably need permission from them to use it. if it adds a few more dollars to the price of the car so be it as long as the car is made well and correct not a foobie. I believe this mold will offer you a few other types of modern reefers that be made with the same basic design as well. Good luck and I hope to see the car announced in the near future! ;D

Skip the DCC couplers and at least make the box KD compatable. That nonsence is for the Lionel dweebs.

As far as extra parts go, we will see what is actually going to be separate. Often times, these days the molding of the separate detail parts is all part of the sprue that includes things like the cab, lights and the ladders. I'll see what I can do. We have been talking about the possibility of using a parts catalog as a way to populate an online shopping cart system on our website until we get more full products. You would probably see some cool etched brass grills in the offering as well. I also shared some cool tech I came across this morning in our morning meeting. Rapid prototyping may be a possibility for offering spare parts on an as needed basis. The licensing for PepsiCo has been the other big stumbling block other than lack of cooperation from the prototype manufacturer. What they are asking is a little on the high side and I suspect higher than what they have been offering to the American based companies. And, rest assured, we are not even considering those DCC couplers, we will leave the gimmicks to MTH. At this point, it looks like a 85% chance for Kadee #5s and a 15% chance for the new upgraded all-metal ProtoMax. Oops...you didn't just hear a new rumor of a new protomax from me.

Continuing on the Stewart U25B from last post: ...coupler mounting pads not mounted to the frame, but rather to the shell (aka like Atlas/Kato yellow box)

Corporate greed as always more interested in seeing how much money they can get for their logos or product. Years ago companies begged to have their logo on a train or toy now they want $$$$$ and lots of it to pay the fat cats sitting at the top. Good Luck and hopefully they will give you a fair deal for the car and logo.

It has several dimensional issues and has rather "soft" details. I won't even mention the wonky handrails and the stamped window screen Stewart and Bowser use for the radiator grilles.
