The prototype for this van was renumbered from CP 438545 back to 437451 in 1977. It only received patches though, not a full repaint and ran this way until it was retired and scrapped in 1990-91. CP 437451 was the very last surviving van with intact original cupola. It is very unfortunate that it was not saved.

CP 437442 was repainted from its original block scheme into action yellow in 1973. It must not have been a quality paint job as it quickly rusted through as can be seen in the 1975 photo shown in the very 1st post of this thread.

CP 437442 was repainted into action yellow for the second time in 1978. It was also outfitted with a large underslung propane tank, presumably around the same time.

CP 437442 with its distinctive underslung propane tank received yet another repaint in 1984. After an accident a short time later, it was unfortunately retired and scrapped in 1986.

Awesome! I really appreciate the individual photos. Had no idea how rare these were when I shot one at Aroostook Jct circa 1980!

No idea where it is! Slides are all packed away. Not ready to attack that mess at the moment. :-)

^ I may sell a couple but this was never about the final product but about the destination to reach this point. Needed something to keep my mind occupied and relatively positive. In that sense, mission accomplished.
