MILW 92425-92449 contained 25 cars in the April 1968 ORER and 10 in the May 1983 ORER.
MILW 92450-92499 contained 49 cars in the April 1968 ORER and 13 in the May 1983 ORER.
The second series had 3-part removable roofs, likely in steel service.
So, we have a percentage of series remaining in service at 17 years of:
40% for the first MILW series (series empty the next year) 27% for the second MILW series (series empty the next year) 87% for the GN series (series not empty the next year)
I have the impression that MILW had problems with these cars.
It's hard to believe anyone would have been interested in buying these cars (due to being "divested") with such a bad failure rate.

oldest piece of MOW equipment i've seen was a flat car at allen junction on the DMIR with a build date of 1914
at last check the LIRR had a few ex-PLE gons in MOW service, they may be all retired by now.

Re: Milwaukee covered gons 92450 – 92499 According to the Milwaukee Color Guide these are ex composite gons built in 1937 rebuilt by Milwaukee Road in 1960 with new ends and sides to which they added 3-piece covers in 1962. They have 11 ribs/12 side panels and look like 92445(which isn' t part of mentioned series, strange).
