List: I'm modeling some MILW GP20's in HO scale and there is a small tab (vent perhaps?) on the low nose (both sides of unit) about midway down. Can anyone tell me what that is and if there is a detail part available for it in HO scale? Attaching a picture, the piece in question is directly above the "GP20" plate in the photo, halfway up the low nose. Any help appreciated. Thanks, Rick VanZee Attachments:

I always cut those off of chop-nose projects and save them. If you have some spare Cannon & Co nose kit sides, they should have those as well. A sharp x-acto knife will do the trick.

Thanks for the replies. I notice the GP9's had these as well so it's not unique to the 20's....I'd never noticed that part before, until I go to build one.

could be because the Milwaukee quasi"GP20s" were GP9s as built. did they get full 645 engines,or just 645 "Power Packs' on the 567 blocks ? same with the True NYC GP20s that were De-turboed,did they get a complete 645 block,or just 645 "Power Packs" on the 567 blocks ?? Spikre

A sharp x-acto knife will do the trick. This. Use a new Xacto #17 chisel blade. Works like a charm.
