Thus far we have several plastic manufacturers slated to make the late model GEVO in UP and BNSF schemes. Those manufacturers are:
Bachmann (assumed from some of their Facebook posts) Broadway Limited Intermountain Railway MTH
Which one are you looking the most forward to? Which one do you think will be the most accurately detailed? Which will be the best model overall? These are just predictions but I think it will be fun to look back and see if we're right.
I think the best in overall appearance will be BLI based on the drawings. The smoothest runner will be Intermountain or MTH. The best puller will likely be MTH.
On a side note, I like the idea that BLI will have smoke. I also hope their model is easily disassembled so I can tint the cab windows for a more realistic look. I have pre ordered all forms of the late model GEVO except Bachmann which hasn't yet made a formal announcement in the UP and BNSF schemes.

I'll make a few predictions...
The MTH will be decent but will be crude in some aspects but it will pull your entire layout around a city block. If you buy a DCC ready version, the decoder you want to fit in it won't fit bc you should've gone with DCS. If it breaks or you need a part you'll send at least 3 dozen emails and leave a dozen voicemails before getting a call back which you'll miss because you are working. As a result, you'll finally get your issue fixed when the cows come home.
The BLI will be a nice locomotive, only limited by Paragon2 and it's decoder. Oh yeah, and it won't be delivered until 2018...
Bachmann's will come out on time but will be panned as too expensive for what you get. But hey it's a Bachmann, so whatsamatteru? Fuggetaboutit....
IMs will be delivered in June of 2014. No wait June 2015. Now wait June 2016. Hey what are you complaining about? Too much grease on the gears, fragile handrails? Really? What have you owned one of these before or something?
In all seriousness, I think the IM units will be the best bc of the Loksound decoders and the customer support, and overall, they are very nice. All will have their pluses and minuses. I'm interested as everyone to see how they turn out (and when).

Broadway will never actually produce the model. I am hoping MTH will do a good job.

I think MTH's will look and perform adequately. Ordering a dozen plus a couple for parts. 3CP 3CSX 3NS 3UP
I am and always will be an mostly GE railroad.(A few exceptions) Most of my EMD'S are in dead lines(Just like the real ones).
I've smoked a couple Tsunamis, melted a Kato motor harness. No need for smoke I'll make my own.

I often point that out to a lot of people. Can't say I see an C30-7ECo or a U23B-ECo. Most of those have been cut up or used for car parts or fodder for GENSET rebuild programs. I no longer own any Uboats. Makes one wonder of the locomotive models out there today what the future SD40-2 will be. BTW UP has reactivated some of its "Cyclops" SD60M's and running them through. Anybody know anything about the SD90/43's? Dead line at Butler has dwindled and heard they are supposed to be rebuilt.

It's actually good you said this, kidding or not. It made me realize I better up my order for MTH and IM units just in case BLI never puts out

The 90/43's are getting frame modification because they were cracking where the fuel tanks mount. Buddy of mine had one on a rail train yesterday and reported new paint on the frame at the tank and additional bracing. Dave

Some in storage can still be seen with tanks falling off of the unit.
