?? how much are the Quiet versions of the EL Bi-Cen ?? it will be tuff to resist,so we'll see what happens with one of them. they were EL for only 6-9 months before CR day,so they are very late in the EL universe. Spikre

Thanks eh49 !! $142+ shipping, would be slightly over $150. bit too rich for me now. even tho my cars value is going down, should be slightly under $60.00 for Car Tax and County Sticker, they doubled the price of the stickers so am still near $100.00. and other bills, number #-2 Son turns 18 on Memorial Day,so that's more important presently. maybe another run will be at a better time ? and since I didn't Pre-Order,likely am shut out on this run anyway. I picked up my Conrail version with sound the other day. The EL Bicentennial version is still waiting for me at the shop. Great looking and running engine!

As are the Genesis auto racks. Looks like the first batch Kleins got in are sold out already. I ordered a N&W. I picked up a Frisco and a Wabash today - Fantastic models, the Wabash is very striking in blue!

The other auto racks look nice too, I am pretty sure I've seen the N&W on the D&RGW, not sure about the others, but likely too.

I have one in hand now. Excellent job by Athearn. I can see zero 'wrong' with it and recommend these. That is two Athearn engines now for me this year, and both are really nice I am happy to say.
I am waiting on the MTH Dash 9s. With MTH I think non sound is the way to go even if you like sound. The MTH prime mover sound is generic at best. For Sound it would be best to add Loksound your self.

Depends which engines you get. Have the same problem with the EL Bi-Centennial that I had with the DT&I Geeps, the light is so bright it bleeds through the plastic (do not have this problem with dark colored units), almost as bad the fire in the cab look of the old Athearns.

atsfan, there shouldn't ever be another SDP45 in Plastic, the Genesis unit is rather fine. and later may get at least 1 to run with the Kato SD45s already on hand. but it will be in standard EL Grey/Yellow/Maroon,not likely the RWB of 3638. it came along too late to be a real "Gottahavit" loco. if it was painted in late 73 or early 74 would be more inclined to get one. then there is also the problem of NO Proper caboose to match C354[?]. so will take a wait and see attitude here, maybe later, maybe not ?? Edit -- EL 3638 was out shoped about/on 10/23/75,and that is less than 6 months to CR Day-- 4/1/76. cover of Diesel Era,Volume 15 Number 2,September/October 2004. Your continued refusal to post any photos even when requested by others, gives the appearance that your purchases are imaginary. A pretty unit and caboose deserves posting a photo, How about it? When a quality SD40-2 comes out I will have no problem paying for them.
An even dozen should suffice
Not sure if will get sound, it depends on who makes them.

And if they were ever "purchased", I'm sure we'd never see you post a photo of them either. I guess we'd just have to use our "imagination". When a quality SD40-2 comes out I will have no problem paying for them. An even dozen should suffice Not sure if will get sound, it depends on who makes them.
