Yep, and it is about time. Just saw the Rapido add on the rear cover of the August issue of RMC. PRR, Erie, B&O, LV, NYC and CN. Also mentioned is the FPA-2 for GN, B&O, LV and CP.

atsfan, You need to quit going to Dr EMD as Your optometrist. get an appointment with Dr Alco or Dr MLW,they will fix that SD40-2 stigma in those glasses from Dr EMD. FA-2 is the only Logical follow up to the FPA-4s. Spikre

So what happened to an FA-3 / FPA-3? Did ALCo / MLW kind of miss a number there between the FA-2 and the FPA-4? Or was it a cryptic "DL" number within the FA-2 or FPA-4 series?

The FA-2 is practically mainstream in comparison to some of Rapido's recent offerings. That should make it a best-seller for them based on wide appeal alone. The detail, accuracy and running qualities will be icing on that cake that will keep people coming back for more, always a good thing if you're trying to sell stuff.

So is this something in Rapido queue for a while or is this Rapido's mystery loco? Not that I've been paying attention - can't you tell? =P

Not that I've been paying attention - can't you tell? =P Jim, You got me, I don't pay much attention either, as it typically isn't gonna be something I need, either. Then again, I someday hope to be pleasantly surprised again by something I could use, like those meat reefers. Maybe a complete pre-diesel Newfie Bullet set, available in either HOm or HOn3?

You forgot the 1400 and/or >1600<-series HO GMD-1s and the next Budd car (probably either a manor sleeper or baggage)! Jason had a photo of the short hood side handrail molds for the 1400/ >1600< GMD-1s in the last newsletter, and had previously noted that additional Budds will be announced at 6-12 month intervals, which means the next one is due any month now. FA-2 I was not expecting, but good for Rapido! Should sell well, open up new markets, and I hope they do well with it. Once more folks see the quality of the upcoming Amtrak F40PH and the FL9s first-hand, word will get around and should convince those on this side of the border who are still unfamiliar with Rapido to go for the FA-2, which in turn will hopefully have Jason continue Rapido's investment in US models in addition to the True North ones. Who knows - maybe we'll even get a proper MBTA screamer one day...

So much confusion and you know it's hard being way down here south of the border to keep track of what's going on way up there in the Great White North! Ok so it's still kinda warm there being July and all that. Take Off eh! and make it so!

Who knows - maybe we'll even get a proper MBTA screamer one day... Gah yes, I forgot those. I'm thankful he's spreading out the budd cars otherwise I would have been broke a long time ago. Just got done paying off the LRC locos and cars... Jason seems to be hinting of something bigger for one of these new announcements. There's also the CN FP9A/B (They did a re-run of the CP FP9A/B's already). More RDC's at some point (Can't wait for the Alaska Run, that'll bankrupt me) I'm hoping for the updated Via Ren Scheme screamers, along with an Alaskan / Amtrak Cabbage. Also hoping for a re-release on the Turbo (Jason, I was a broke college student when that came out so I couldn't get it, please make it again!!) On the UK stuff, hopefully the APT, but we'll see. I'm sure the FA-2 will attract tons of interest. This is exciting.

Hey Jason, listen carefully, there's a lot of SP&S freaks out here, the SP&S was an almost exclusive user of Alco's and they had FA-2's... ...yes PLEEEEZ!!

Too new for me, as I model VIA in the 90s, but I would love a modern Amtrak cabbage and an MBTA screamer (for my local interests)
