However, getting back to the U28CG, I don't even have a train to pull yet, but this particular locomotive is so unique, I had to have one. Me too. I don't even know where to begin with the train, but I will cross that bridge when I come to it. Fortunately, much of the train is visible in the photos taken around Fort Worth, so I can it figure out later.
Or you could do one U28CG and one U30CG...

I'm not familiar at all with the U28B, so at the risk of sounding completely ignorant, is there a particular roadname or phase I need to look for when I buy a donor shell for this project?

The P2K U28B comes in two phases, with and with out dynamic brakes (painted units have them or don't, the undecs you can do either way). For early or late, you will have to compare the radiator sections, or see if some one chimes in here... I suspect it is the early, but let's verify that!

There should be a P2K U28b "early" (which really isn't as the early U28B was in a late U25B carbody, so more of a "mid" on the P2K). Then there should be a "late-U28B/early U30B" version. Here is a prototype of an early U30B to compare the radiator section on, back to the U28B: I have a at least one P2K accessible, and will dig it out and take a picture later tonight or tomorrow.

Thank you, that's very helpful. I'll see if I can get one for a decent price. Anyone need a U28B drive?
