I can't remember what hints or qualifications have accompanied this, if any, but I'm still thinking "definitive E8."

Tend to agree with what I read on Trainorder: that, considering the location of the debut and what is in the collection there, it will be either an RS18 or FA1. Leaning towards an FA1.
Thanks, Mark

Viewing those two possibilities from Alcoland: very interesting. P2K had white I recall as a very nice FA1 (with/without dynamics; two kinds of numberboards, different exhaust). Walthers could resurrect it in an instant. They haven't. And I doubt they would, unless "prompted". But I sure would like to see some in SP&S. Now that RS18. If it also presages an RS-11--fantastic! The two that are out now are dogs. And I could use several good ones. Ed

If the silhouette on their web page is the actual item to be announced, it is a cab unit and not an RS18... Don't know if that might be an FA1, but it would strike me as odd that over the summer they announced the FA2, which isn't even out yet. And no FB2 units!

Could be a geep, there's a B&M one in the background. If not, the blacked out loco has to be CP.

Thanks, Mark The FA1 would be great and fits the blacked out unit in the picture. If they are doing the FA2, the FA1 nose is easy and the tooling for the shorter body would really fit well for marketing. Many roads in the USA did purchase the FA1 so this unit could be sold in many road names. Larry

Jason has said that the FB2s will be coming in the future. With the number of models already announced and still to be delivered, I think he realizes that everyone's wallet may need some time to recover. Of course, Monday's big announcement isn't going to help some of us I'm sure... David

Those 4-6-0s will be HUGE.
Makes me wonder that it's not only Canadians who will be happy. Will any of these be useful for Central Vermont or other Canadian-affiliated roads?

Is something official now? Canadian steam locomotives. Royal Hudson to start. 2017 delivery. Two a year there after for seven more years. $599.95 (DC) and $699.95 (DC/DCC/Sound) for the Hudson. Jason says price is firm. Not noted whose dollars are the basis of the prices.

Those are some seriously nice looking locomotives, and I'm loving the features. My wallet is seriously thanking me right now for not modeling Canadian rail. Is something official now? Not noted whose dollars are the basis of the prices. That looks like a freedom unit symbol. Had Jason meant the Canadian dollar, he would have obviously prefixed it with a "C" or appended "CAD" afterwards, demonstrating his submission to the Superior USD.

Those 4-6-0s will be HUGE. Makes me wonder that it's not only Canadians who will be happy. Will any of these be useful for Central Vermont or other Canadian-affiliated roads? Maybe. Not to mention Western New York modellers -- Canadian steam came across the river and into Niagara Falls, N.Y. and Buffalo, N.Y. yards. And passenger likely into Buffalo Central Terminal. The only thing I have in this category is one of the NYC Hudsons sold to Toronto, Hamilton and Buffalo that BLI did many moons ago. So, COWABUNGA!!! -- Canadian steam had a special character all its own, only added to by the necessary cold-weather features (i.e., enclosed cabs, enclosed pumps up front).
