Wow, they did a nice job of preserving the original paint on that one. They didn't even add the typical conspicuity striping to it. Looks like a good one for a future Tangent run! Dave

This is actually an NS-era Hollidaysburg repaint, done before the shops were closed. Wow, they did a nice job of preserving the original paint on that one. They didn't even add the typical conspicuity striping to it. Looks like a good one for a future Tangent run! Dave

Thanks, Ian. Looks really close to the CR scheme down to the placement and font of all the small data. I thought the reporting marks on the end of the car looked patched. Still a good one for Tangent!

So... If someone would like to purchase these gondolas, where are they being offered? My usual source, MB Klein, does not show them listed and the other vendors I use, Overland Hobbies and Blue Ridge Hobbies do not have them either.
Any ideas where these may be purchased?
Thanks, Ed

Direct from Tangent. MBK will get some but Tangent sells them initially.

Are there any drawings or pictures available of the brake rigging on these cars? I think there some serious mistakes on the model. The center sill is notched out for the brake cyclinder. The lever at the cyclinder is too short and has only one support. There is no lever at the A end of the car. The air line from the brake cyclinder connects to the brake rod from the A end instead of to the control valve. None of this detracts from the great appearance of the model but it seems like someone in China just dreamt up something to throw under the car.

^If that's the case, I'd bet Dave L. would want that car, or photos of it back (for QA/QC purposes).

It's not a quality control problem. It's a design issue. All seven of mine are the same.

Perhaps.....but to call out that the car has some serious mistakes...that does not detract from the great appearance of the models is a little much. Looks to me that it was designed to be sturdy and easy to assemble and still look good from the side. Seems to meet those goals. I am more than happy with my PRR and PC G43s. The only gondolas that rival them are Tangent's earlier gondola releases!

I got 2 of the Conrail gonds on Saturday and all I can say is wow, beautiful car, also bought 4 boxes of coil to load on my Walther's coil cars, Tangent did a hell of a good job on the steel coils.

Thanks, Ed I ordered a CR G43 along with a pack of coils [along with an item from another manufacturer] from them earlier today as soon as I saw they had them in. I can't wait to see one in person. Anyone who has put off ordering these, the CR's are nearly sold out and certain numbers in PRR and PC have sold out.

randyb is referring to the second shipment Klein has received. The coils themselves are also sold out again there.

Loads always seem to go the fastest. I actually never even saw them in stock at MBK *poof* I think some companies could make 5x or 10x the loads they do and they would still sell out. Hopefully Tangent will make a bunch more cause I'd like a shot a some of them myself.

I'm referring to direct from Tangent, not Kleins. A few more road numbers have sold out since my previous post.

The coils will be offered again in August. We will also produce more CR and PC cars for those that missed out. Thank you, David Lehlbach Tangent Scale Models
