Oh MY!
Blanked window for the GN RDC?
OH MY!!!
I'll be going from a NO to a YES on that one. And I'm sure the profits from my sale, alone, will more than cover the cost. And the rest is ALL PROFIT!
Uh, thanks. THANKS!
Ed
PS: The NP boxes look fabulous. I'd sorta call them "pre-transition", maybe. Which is good for me, 'cause I'm right now exploring the Pacific Northwest in 1945, and these cars will be ever so useful.

Those do look lovely; guessing they were rare or gone by the late 1970's.

Uh, Gareth. A moment:
The document says: "...blanked windows for Great Northern..."
My belief is that the word "windows" should be singular, not plural.
Let's not lose our heads, here, with over-enthusiasm.

Anyone have a Dash 8-40CM in hand to compare with? That radiator picture looks more like a Dash-7 or U-boat than a Dash-8 to me...

Brian: Got mine yesterday. The radiator section looks exactly like the prototype picture of CN #2403 and the following unit in the Rapido product literature. Compares favorably to the Kato C-44-9 radiator section. No where near as toylike as the one on the Atlas B-40-8. All in all I was favorably impressed with the unit. I have not been able to run it yet. That will be later today.
I was originally going to pass, because it was supposed to be a detail yourself unit. I have some issues with my hands. But it isn't. Other than a detail package with some marker lighting details, and a decal strip, its complete. My only build is the detailing on the radiator and air inlets is somewhat light, and the background is solid black. But a little weathering will help bring it out. It will look great with a couple of CN Genesis SD-75-I's, to make up a CN Haulage train of the 1990's. That ran on the BN between Superior, WI and Cicero, IL from 1992-to 1998-99 before the WC acquisition.
Looking forward to the 3800 cf cylindrical covered hoppers.
Bill

...Bill is in charge of this project so you can be assured it will be accurate. Bill, Only ONE blanked window, right? On the left side only. Right? Ed PS: Thanks for Rapido changing their corporate mind (if there is one). When I talked to either Bill or Jason earlier, I was told that it was too expensive to blank that window. Thanks for changing.

Bill, Only ONE blanked window, right? On the left side only. Right? Oh come on Ed. If we do more than one it will help pay for the extra tooling..... ;>) Yes, just one. Bill

My Dash 8-40CMs just showed up and I can say for sure that those radiators in the drawing are not from that model.
The third drawing with the ladder and truck is pretty much spot on to the Dash 8-40CM, though there are a few minor differences on the sideframe which I assume are to support injection molding.
