SDL39? ?? I thought of that possibility as well until I read another response by Rapido - This is our first pure US freight diesel locomotive. It was built in the USA, ran all over the USA, and served with many of the major US railroads of the era. While the SDL39 strayed far from WC rails after they bought them, I am not sure if that counts as serving with "many of the major US railroads". The F-M H20-44? Rapido has proven to be more than willing to think outside of the box in the past, but then the major railroads are N&W [following mergers], NYC, PRR, and UP. But, that part around the fuel tank doesn't look right. Here are my two guesses right now. First, I wonder if it is an Alco RS11 - especially a "Phase 2". Or, are we looking at the frame for some sort of GE - a U25B for example - with a centered fuel tank with space for air tanks on either end? Isn't the RS11 close to something than MLW built, maybe a few revisions?

Isn't the RS11 close to something than MLW built, maybe a few revisions? That's what made me think it could be a RS11 as they are similar to the MLW RS10 and RS18, which very flawed models were released by Hobbycraft/Life-Like over 10 years ago. I added the RSD12 to my guesses as it is another short-wheelbase freight locomotive that was owned by several of the major railroads - C&O/B&O/Utah/LS&I, NKP/N&W, PRR/PC/CR, and SP.

I'm guessing a B23-7 or B30-7 Good possibilities since their November newsletter teased drawings of the radiator section on a F59PH and some sort of GE Dash 7. The other hints of it only being built in the USA rule out the former and suggest the latter. What about a B36-7? BC Rail had second-hand B36-7s purchased from ATSF. When asked if this US-built locomotive ever migrated to Canada, Rapido dodged the question saying a response would give it away...

An RSD-12 in Utah would be perfect for my late 1970's west end D&RGW theme.

Now THIS would be awesome... as a complete train in a box with a bow on it: But I think there are only five other guys who would agree with me. "50th Anniversary Tempo Box Set" - limited edition of SIX. -Jason I think it would work well for a UK Minories style layout - the RS18 could work either direction so no turning required, and the Tempo coaches could be used either for a long distance style service like they did in reality, or as a commuter coach with a different paint scheme.

When you do the Temp cars make the 36" inside ball bearing wheelsets available separately so we can use them in our Walthers Amfleet I & II sleds. This in itself and in addition to the Temp cars could make the run more profitable. Do all the schemes in the Tempos such as GO, VIA, Rio Grande Ski Train and Algoma Central etc. and you have a winner!

Has anyone mentioned RSD7? I don't believe there is currently a model of this out there.

There are a few Alcos left to be done such as the RSC3, RSD4, RSD5, RSD7, and RSD12. The DH643 is the last of the large Alcos. There are a whole lot of Baldwin’s such as double Enders, and DS and DRS units to be done, the EMDs are pretty slim but include the GP28, GP40P, GP38AC, GP40TC, SD18, SD28, SD38AC, SDL39, SD40A, and SD50S. FMs are lacking a good H20-44 and H16-66, and GE is missing the U23C, B30-7A/A1, B36-7, C30-7A, C36-7, and C32-8. Plenty of possibilities exist prior to the entry of the EMD 60 series and Dash 8 series.

All I can say is with Rapido's track record, I am really excited to see what they are tooling up.
As for a wish list item. A Baldwin center cab. EJ&E EMD rebuild. That would be COOL!!!!!! I would have to muster up enough cash to buy the whole J roster of them.
