And so, with the NCL, we come to the colors to paint it. Shall Walthers match: W&R Challenger Walthers (their previously mentioned dome coach) Athearn (their various F's) (yeah, right) NPRHA (laboriously researched) color drift cards other? Ed I did a bit of research on the colors. For years I used Floquil and as everyone knows, they're no longer around. I found that my Athearn Genisis F-7 was an accurate match for the Walthers cars. I had picked up a Stewart F-3A unit and a Stewart F7-B dummy. Both the light and dark green were way off. Also, the Stewart units also came unlettered. I found that Tru Color had an exact match for the Lowey paint scheme so both Stewart units were repainted and I used Microscale decals for the lettering. Over the years, I did manage to pick up Walthers coaches, dome cars and sleepers piece meal. Some I found on special in the monthly Walthers sale brochure for $36, but some were purchesed at full retail at $48. The dining car was hard to find and I did manage to get it at $48 also. Sounds like I may have some collector items.

Ah, but the W&R colors don't match the NPRHA colors. And THEY spent a LOT of time matching colors.
A quandary, I do think.
