I seen these cars at trainfest last year, and all sold out within the first hour. I shouldn't of passed up the chance to buy a 3 pack right away. I'll be buying a bunch of them.

I have them on pre-order at my LHS. Accurail has been announcing these for a while but they never seem to make it into general distribution. They are not a priority for me but would be nice to see them appear soon. But then again. I just had an IM PFE R-24 show up that I pre-ordered over two years ago.

I've emailed Dennis Storzek (Accurail) several times over the last year or so to inquire how it's going with these. He mentioned that the tooling needed reconditioning and that in producing the batch for Trainfest last year that they discovered the roof and detail tooling needed work. He had hoped to get that done during the summer, so that seems to have been the case! I understand from the announcement -- and the fact that the 3900 series cars have now been added to the main catalog page on their website -- that the cars are now ready to go into general production, with the first batch being made available for Trainfest.
I'm hoping to pick up one of each of the first 4 announced so far -- 2 for a friend who models the late 1950s, and 2 for me: I'm modeling the milling district along the Milwaukee Road's line paralleling Hiawatha Avenue in Minneapolis in 1975.
