Can someone explain why IMRC "reannounced" the PS 4785? I’ve had some on preorder with Toy Train Heaven since December 2017 - hope my order is still valid. Guess I’ll be contacting TTH just to double check.
Thanks, Mark

Pumped about the Tangent tanks...should probably order all 4. Dave knows I'm hungry for transition-era tanks.
Mixed feelings on the SD45...love the model, but I am so happy with the one I kitbashed off the P2K model that I'll likely complete the two more I have sourced, rather than shell out. But overall excited to see it. Still hoping for a rerun of their first run of CNW SD40-2s. I just couldn't swing it when they came and went.

Accurail has supposedly announced a 2,980 cu ft 2-bay AC&F Centerflow.
And Classic Metal Works have announced some interesting new vehicles including a 1950s camper trailer (we call them caravans), a garbage hopper, a lowboy trailer, a “bottle trailer” (whatever that is), a tanker trailer, and most interesting of all, a Buick station wagon.

FWIW, Atlas isn’t making a true official announcement about the U28Cs until 2020 despite them having test shots and potential paint schemes displayed.

Nice to see Hornby bring back those boxcars. Prototype or not, i like them. Maybe that means they will also bring back the U25c.

For what it’s worth, I also saw some comments from Shane on one of the Scaletrains SD45 posts that the GP30 and SD24 are on their radar for the future. He also said they are currently working on their first steam locomotive, too!

The Accurail ACF 2980 appears to be actually the ACF 2970 model, but I guess they call it an ACF 2-bay center flow covered hopper model.

While the new hopper is not the multi-piece models many of us want, for people on a small budget, not much time, and not much skill it will be perfect. We all want detailed models, but the prices are high and not affordable for many people. We have Tangent, Scale Trains, Athearn, and Atlas for those kind of models but I am thankful we still have Accurail for beginners and in some way for older modelers who hands might not be as steady as they once were! The hobby is hurting people so don't bash it because it does not fit your criteria, it might fit someone else's!

I am most interested in seeing that Walthers PNC Geep. My Intermountain PNC GP-10 could use the company.

Model Railroad News just posted a picture on their Facebook page: linkInteresting that the Accurail flyer looks a lot like the Northern Pacific artwork from the old Detail Associates flat kit. I like the Atlas Trainkids Acela set! I may end up ordering that for my little kids - I've been looking for something "survivable" to put under the tree without breaking the bank on G scale stuff. Didn't Broadway offer the GG1 pretty early on after they got started? Or was it part of MTH controversy? One of their ads states that it's all-new tooling. Dave

Yes, I bought a few circa 2004. BLI subsequently offered a second run and I had another three on order, but the order was cancelled by BLI because they lost the tooling as part of the resolution of the MTH litigation.

I am most interested in seeing that Walthers PNC Geep. My Intermountain PNC GP-10 could use the company. Don't shoot the messenger if this doesn't work, but Model Railroad News had a photograph of all the Mainline GP9's, including the PNC, on FB. Model Railroad New Photo of Mainline GP'sOf course, you might have to log onto FB to be able to see the photo. While not 100% correct, I might spring for the IC GP9 since I already have an Illinois Central caboose but nothing really to pull it with. I was a little surprised not to see an undec. with this run since they have included undec.'s with the other Mainline releases. I guess there is always next run or a 91% alcohol bath.

I gotta say, I'm thrilled to see how the Rapido Amtrak Horizon cars are shaping up. I have absolutely no need for them, because I don't model any of the Midwestern lines where they mostly operate, but I'll probably end up with a train of a half dozen of them in Phase III paint just because I love Amtrak equipment. The underbody detail on the Rapido models is something that's really been missing from previous passenger cars. Even the Walthers line, which has turned out a ton of much-needed passenger cars, basically just has the basic boxes and tanks under the cars with no piping or other details. The Rapido models are going to be fantastic.

Damn, All of Rapidos offerings look amazing and those Horizon cars look great. I don't model the Midwest but I picked two up. During the heavy seasons i've seen them make their way on the back of trains going into Penn. Good stuff all around might pick up some of those Mainline GP9s, I really had fun with the two phase IIs I picked up.

What is different about these Bachmann decapods from the previous Spectrum release? It doesn't say "Spectrum" on the box anymore. I would guess they'll also be offering sound equipped versions with TCS Wow Sound as well.

Be nice if they'd eliminate the belt in the drive.

As somebody whose primary era of interest is the 60s and 70s, compared to prior years I made out really well with the Trainfest announcements this time around:the Atlas U28C/U28CG, ScaleTrains SD45, Rapido Alco PA, Athearn ICC caboose, Tangent 8000g welded tank, Accurail 2980 ACF, and Walthers GP9 in PNC colors. Hopefully they don't hit the market all at once!
