Hello all. It's Sunday again, and I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. Today, I have two containers to show. Both are old school Athearn smooth side containers that I partly kitbashed into reefer containers. I say 'partly' because the EcoTherm one is the only one that has a reefer unit built in, which was made from the top piece from a Rail Power Products 8-40CW air conditioner. I loved this paint scheme the moment I saw it on the internet, but figured no company would ever release it, so I made my own decals and printed them on an Epson NX420 with DuraBrite ink. Unfortunately, my computer ate the Illustrator file that had my decal designs in it so I can't print more. I have a feeling that this container is rare, as I have seen other EcoTherm containers without the leafy branch. This one used mostly Railflyer decals, but the We Deliver! and the www. cn.ca parts were made by me. I probably should have moved the "intermodal" up closer to the CN logo, but I'm happy with the results. Now I all need is some decal setting solution and some dullcote. Maybe a little bit of weathering. Show 'em if you got 'em! Enjoy your weekend! Timothy Dineen

Finished up an Intermountain 40' PS1 kit, painted with Scalecoat II Boxcar Red and Black Paints, then lettered with Mask Island Decals. The CNW purchased thousands of 40' box cars and used them until the 1990's hauling grain out of lightly used branchlines that could not use the 100 Ton Covered Hoppers. Tangent 52'6" Bethlehem Steel Gondola, painted with Scalecoat II Black Paint and lettered with Tichy Decals. Also installed a pipe load that I picked up off of E-bay as a load. Bethlehem steel built many gons for the eastern railroads and were noted for their toughness, many lasted in service like this one built in 1952 and still in use in Conrail years. The Wabash picked up a number of CNJ gons as the railroad downsized in the 60's. My SP general freight powered by an SD45T-2 and SD45 with elephant ears, on the Stongsville Model Railroad layout. Thanks for looking! Rick Jesionowski

No finished models to show. However, with all the discussion about cabooses, I thought I might finally tackle this kit from Wright Trak. I’m not sure if I want to just build it or try to document the process and do another modeling post. Right off the bat, I have to say this looks like a quality kit. The etchings are super fine and the resin body and parts look really good! Thanks, Mark J. Reading, PA

I was pretty disappointed when Wright Trak bailed out of the HO business.

Haven't done any modeling in awhile, but ran across some in progress weathering photos of a SD70MAC. Derek Brown photo:

I was pretty disappointed when Wright Trak bailed out of the HO business. There has been talk that his molds were picked up by a few historical society's, but I would love to have a better confirmation. I could really use a few sets of his PRR caboose etch sets.

For those not on Facebook: A guy called Gregory King has bought most of the Wright Trak moulds. He's casting and building some test models now in preparation for a re-release, starting with the Wabash/N&W/etc streamlined caboose.

Well that is very encouraging news!
And much thanks to Gary Wright for producing these fine kits. Whatever the next chapter is in his life, I wish him much success.
