It appears that over the past few months we have seen more all-new caboose announcements than we've seen in the past 10 years. I am very grateful to the mfrs for producing these long-overdue cars and wish them success. Given all the new cabooses announced and discussed across multiple threads, I thought it might be wise to summarize them here. Feel free to post updates in this thread and I will update this list as further all-new brass, plastic or resin HO models are announced and released.
Athearn Genesis ICC (released in Sept '20):
Santa Fe CE-8 and CE-11 wide vision UP CA-8 cupola SSW and SP bays (upgraded and updated re-run of earlier models circa 2012) SAL B&O/Chessie/Safety C26/27 CB&Q/FW&D wide vision
Tangent:
B&O/Chessie/Safety I-18 (first released Jan '20, 2nd run modern shoving platform in June) Conrail N7 bay window released in Sept '21.
Walthers:

NORTH BANK LINE (FALL 2019)
10/29/19 A Notice from Ed at North Bank Line: Since my previous newsletter the NP, SP&S, BN caboose project is nearing completion. Painting and lettering diagrams have been approved and Boo Rim Precision is currently assembling sample models. If all goes as expected (hum … could happen!) these will be approved in November and finished models should arrive right after the first of the year. Reviewing minor lettering variations between otherwise identical cars has resulted in 23 distinctly different cars. The production total is now fixed at 300 models, all but 7 of which are currently presold. I expect to mail invoices to all dealers holding firm reservations after the first of the year.
Some dealers might have noticed the North Bank Line web-site is no longer active. This is because this caboose project will be the last official North Bank Line project. When I started the North Bank Line in 2006 it was with the goal of producing models that either had never been produced before or that had only been produced to a much earlier standard of detail and accuracy. Unfortunately most of the projects I’ve planned have not generated enough orders to allow production to proceed. In some respects this stems from a lack of advertising and dealer participation. Another factor may be changing demand and rising costs. In any case the result is the same. You can’t build models without firm reservations. Thus at this time all previously announced North Bank Line projects are cancelled. Future North Bank Line projects, if any, will be produced on a very limited basis.

Gregory King has bought the former Wright Trak moulds, and is re-releasing the caboose kits under his own new business, Southbound Modelworks and Decal Company.

The Atheearn Genesis C-50 series was announced Sept 2012 according to their website - 8 years ago. I looks like the Announced SP bay windows may be a new run of and existing model.

That there is an X-1 through X-30 caboose. Note that, on the X-310, the cupola corners are rounded--one of a kind. I've never seen it offered before. Ed

Sort of new... The previous versions didn't have a sound version available, and this is the first time we have done SP C-50-5s with the single roof marker lights.

his is the first time we have done SP C-50-5s with the single roof marker lights. Yes, past runs didn't have sound but the old run C-50-5 has a single roof marker light; while not a photo of the model the art-works shows a single roof light. In fact, I have #1948 below. www.athearn.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=ATHG63028HO Bay Window C-50-5 Caboose w/Lights, SP #1948

I’m curious what they cost, I’d like to get one for BN. I picked up one of the Genesis SP cabooses with lights recently. It changes my mind about dcc cabooses...

Yes, that's him Colin, thank you. At the time my buddy purchased the GN car they were $100.00, painted and finished like the one in the pic. He's done Stac-Pacs as well, I picked up four, now I just need to build a PLH 110 to put them on.

Division Point's website didn't seem to show anything.

I expect the price to be $300-$500.
When the North Bank cars show, the selling price for them should give a better hint for ole 310. North Bank left out interiors to keep the prices low. I don't know if that's true for the Division Point model.

SD40dash2 mentioned in the original post some coming models so here are some pics from Lines West. These have been available for a while now but I don't believe I've shown them all here. Milwaukee Road 992149 as it appeared in the late 70's with WASH ST stencils, safety yellow ends, truck mounted generator, modified air brake system (due to now removed 3M generators) and painted over toilet compartment window. Milwaukee Road 992175 as it appeared in the early '80's with plated over windows and unique herald placement. Milwaukee Road 02134 as it appeared in the late 60's/early '70's with dual 3M thermal generators, propane tank rack under the bay, revised underframe with repositioned air reservoir and brake valve to make room for the rack and wagon wheel antenna. All models feature detail improvements from the first run including pin lifters, rubber air hoses and grab irons added to the end sills. Each of the above models has a different underframe and details such as smokejacks to properly represent their prototypes. The platforms and end rails are also now made out of a more durable plastic resin. Here is a photo of the truck mounted generator. The photo isn't the best, cell phone, but the spokes on the generator idler wheel are individually rendered and can be seen through along with the belts. This axle is roller bearing while the other three are solid. Models are available at Lines West Dealer inquiries welcome as well.

Hi Todd,
Thanks for the update! I have revised the initial post with your details.
Am I understanding correctly that RTR purchases have a 6-8 week wait for assembly? I have an '80s version on my list.

Hi Todd, Thanks for the update! I have revised the initial post with your details. Am I understanding correctly that RTR purchases have a 6-8 week wait for assembly? I have an '80s version on my list. Yes, there is a bit of a delay as I make them as I can. And I've had some resin issues which put me behind. Actually returned 8 kg due to it being so inconsistent and had to source something new. Things are flowing pretty well right now so delivery should be less than that. I have learned making three variations at once is a bigger headache than I expected. I make small batches of each number now to keep things straight. I have a couple 992149's with blanked windows now which was not intended. Actually correct for the 80's though so I'll be able to sell them.

Looks like Atlas is doing another round of standard and extended vision cabooses per the spring catalog, just out. The D&RGW are probably more "stand-ins", which I already have. I'm holding out for correct EV cabooses, hopefully from Athearn Genesis or others.

I still have one NW left. They were hot for two weeks then when like three other guys had them I had to drop the price ten bucks. I sold one in person at a show. Each time they run a roadname it takes a while for the market to absorb them and the demand to come back.
IC and GN are in demand, BNSF probably good. I preordered a bunch of them.

I'll update the Tangent thread with this posting from their website as well:
SPECIAL NOTE: While we have one RTR SKU (and one kit) still in stock, our first run of cabooses sold out faster than intended. We WILL release a new run of cabooses (with a mix of the sold out and some new schemes!) in 2020! We do not pre-announce our release dates, so please be patient and watch our website and newsletter for our next “spot release."

^ I can vouch for the Lines West caboose. I bought a RTR which arrived just before the world changed out here. Very finely detailed model, good website technology etc. And yes, good box for the model also in case anyone is wondering about the box.
