This new SP "yellow stripe" boxcar from Tangent really intrigued me so as soon as I received it I started working on it. It didn't need much but I did replace supplied wheels with Tangent .088" wide wheels. I did add relube stencils and added some splotches of galvanized paint to the roof to simulate some peeling paint. I painted the trucks and then added some weathering using pencils, PanPastels and airbrushing. I like the mix of freights cars in the 1970's and this rebuilt, low height car looks great in a freight train. Tangent really did their research on this interesting car.

You've done a nice job on a beautiful model, Tom; but you really should get rid of one or the other of the identical posts starting two threads on the same subject.

My facebook feed lately I get a lot of short clips of rail videos and the other day one was on the PC west of Pittsburgh about 1969. One of the trains I spotted the yellow stripe from one of these cars, although it was too far away to make out much more.

Another picture of a fine looking model, enhanced by a fine modeler. Thanks for sharing. I need to get off my butt and order one of these.
