seeing that paragraph in the newsletter was mildly amusing, seeing it posted here directly above a picture of the second run E units still with the horrific headlight was downright hilarious. How anyone takes these clowns seriously is beyond me. Edit: actually, the more I think about it the more certain I become that this is yet another passive agressive swipe at the prototype modeling community. There is absolutely no way that " umactually@rapidotrains.com " is a legitimate email that they intend to read in good faith. For the people here who still want to give Rapido your hard earned money: ......... why? No, it's a real email address. And I don't think it's passive aggressive at all. I think it's a full on move to shift responsibility for errors from themselves to those who have the chutzpah to point out mistakes, ie, complain. Somebody there is tired of catching the heat for screw ups after promising wonderfulness. If Rapido actually intends to make a good faith effort to get things right and take advice from people who know more than they do, coming up with a stupid email like that and then burying it in a paragraph loaded with sarcasm so blatant it becomes idiotic (painting modern CN GEs green, really?) is a stupid assed way to make it seem like they genuinely want to make an effort. Mind you it would also be pretty on-brand for those clowns... If this is not a good faith effort but really an attempt to pass the buck onto modelers for their own screw ups..... well I don't know how the hell they expect that to work. At the end of the day the buck stops with the people who's company name goes on the box - nobody else. If people don't email things in, or if they do and Rapido ignores them, or makes some excuse why they "can't", what the hell is the difference? People are still going to see the screw ups and they still aren't going to like them. The only way something like this will possibly work is if they actually take it seriously, and if Rapido thinks this is some sort of "get out of jail free" card for screwing up they are going to get a rude awakening.

Yup G22's, 3, 4 of them I guess, and as many of the NYC Enterprise Hoppers I can afford that week.

The only way something like this will possibly work is if they actually take it seriously, and if Rapido thinks this is some sort of "get out of jail free" card for screwing up they are going to get a rude awakening. This allows a new video series and line from them to be created: our "Better Than Prototype!!!" line, with such classic slogans as: "We did a better job than EMD!"
Items pointed out well in advance of production models -in emal, in person- , such as radiator fans with 10-blades, with the prototype having 8 ("they cool even MORE efficiently!").
And, if they did care, these things would be corrected on subsequent runs - they aren't. The windows on the Comet and Horizon cars were far too round, the doors misshapen ("they're more aerodynamic!") It was emailed to them after the first production samples, pointed out again in person, emailed a second time before production, and they were released with the "don't like 'em, don't buy 'em. People will buy them anyway" tag line. No changes on the second run, other than a price increase.
It's endless, but I'm sure it will allow for more 15 minute videos to come out.

As for buying their stuff - only after it's on the street and seen by myself or somebody whose opinions I trust. Because I don't trust Rapido to consistently deliver. 100% agreed with that statement

I relayed the message to them at the show about the fans. It is up to them to do something about it.

Beyond the bitching, what are people's thoughts on the PC&F boxcars?

Beyond the bitching, what are people's thoughts on the PC&F boxcars? I mean there's technically 2 of them. The B-100-40 had some issues with the waffle on one panel (I need to fix it on mine), I've not seen a review of the B-70 yet.
