Both should be Veyor? Coalveyor is the correct name for sure.
-veyor is short for conveyor, etc.
-veyer looks goofy in English. Just wrong.
Did Walthers bungle the name? Or did ATSF call them Auto-veyer?

Yeah, looks like Athearn has a pretty large mispelling on that auto carrier. I don't think that text can get any larger. I don't think Santa Fe used this exact prototype of 50 foot rack, but ATSF did use Auto-Veyor branding on their 89' open autoracks: www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=449155The Walthers Mainline model has it spelled with an 'o'. As far as I know, only one Evans Auto-Loader was constructed for the NYC. Athearn is offering the scheme, but it may also have errors. The branding should say '6-Car Auto-Loader' to denote how many automobiles it can carry. Athearn's only says 'Auto Loader'. I have not seen a prototype photo without the '6-Car' part, althought I found one photo where the branding was removed altogether.

The Athearn model as designed only carries four cars. Likely why the branding was left off.
I had forgotten until looking at some of the photos, Marx made a version of these for their HO line also. They fit to a 40' flat car - but IIRC have a working ramp inside. The cars were also better than the Athearn models - a very accurate 1957 Ford Station Wagon and a Cadillac Eldorado Seville which was an odd choice as a low production, expensive car.

lvrr325, I'd love to see a photo of the Marx model, which I didn't know about.

May 2, about 9:45 a.m., EDT lvrr325, I'd love to see a photo of the Marx model, which I didn't know about. I found a model on eBay: www.ebay.com/itm/335313868461I see a few wire parts that operate the ramp and prevent the cars from falling out the ends. The center support is also offset, which is correct for the prototype even though the model is too short. The shape of the rack is better on the Athearn model, but the play features on the Marx model would be pretty fun for a kid.
