Maybe they're moving the forums to a Firecrown server.

Although a menu appeared on the new owner's site, the link destinations were the old original pages. >>> Firecrown Media2227

Saw a post on Trainorders that says kalmbach is selling off the remaining assets and will dissolve the company by the end of the year. Sad. But the era of the Great American Magazine has been over for a long time.

Saw a post on Trainorders that says kalmbach is selling off the remaining assets and will dissolve the company by the end of the year. Sad. But the era of the Great American Magazine has been over for a long time. Kevin, owner of White River made a post on Trainorders that disagrees with this. They have a different approach that seems to be working very well for them, one being not owning an office.

"As reported earlier, Kalmbach Media sold their Tracks Brands (raiilroad related magazines + Astronomy) to Firecrown Media, effective June 30. Kalmbach on May 1 also sent out a letter to their stockholders stating that athe Board of Directors is actively seeking to sell the company's remaining media, marketing and other assets. After completing the asset sales, the company will be dissolved. After all bills are paid and accounts closed, remaining funds will be distributed to stockholders. Their hope is the sales will be completed by the end of 2024. Thus the end of Kalmbach Media, after 80 years. [Author, "masterphots."]
I was never too good at math, but isn't 1934 to 2024 90 years?

This year I finally declined to renew my MR subscription after many, many years.
I held onto it this long hoping that they would see how RMC blossomed under White River and that MR would undergo a similar transformation. Never happened. Is anyone familiar with Firecrown Media's other magazines? Could they revitalize MR?

Saw a post on Trainorders that says kalmbach is selling off the remaining assets and will dissolve the company by the end of the year. Where? It's on the Western Board. Interesting photos of the Kalmbach employee's parking lot through the years.

I heard it directly from Tony that they are still planning out MRP as far as 2026, take that for whatever it means.
