The Walthers has much better realistic looking double arm windshield wipers too. Scale Trains apparently by the looks of it are still using those ugly single arm etched ones. Steve Well, with that improvement you have to acknowledge the window shape/size on the Walthers is wrong. So as is often the case, what matters most to a person. On the regular SD45's it's even more apparent, sadly a ghastly looking face nowadays. True but in these pictures the window error doesn’t stand out near as much as the roof. Steve |

A bunch of CRR power has shown up second hand recently, now these units from SXT, its like theres cosmic forces trying to drag me back to modeling elkhorn city, KY

The Walthers looks weird to me because the wiper appears to be molded with the window, and isn’t complete.

I see where the Undecs, that don't sell, are all gone. Also both can be true: they didn't run many, because they don't sell well, and the few they made sold out. I have two of them. For all I know, I own 2/3rds of all the undecorated SD45s they ever did. |

Starting with undec allowed me to complete the locomotive that I wanted and to blacken the edges of the windows with a Sharpee for a better appearance. They did take a while to build though.  |
