Hopefully these won’t have the same issues as the first run. Steve

The road i'm most interested in is warped in the test shot: Not a good look.

The road i'm most interested in is warped in the test shot: Not a good look. While fixable by the modeler with careful bending, I think it's a sign something about the problem can't be fixed without tooling changes they can't afford. Thankfully, no roads I model!

That's wild, I didn't even look that far but you can see it in several of the ones that have an actual model photo

We’ll give you a 9% discount but you’ll have to bend it strait.
Thanks a lot…

They claim on their Facebook page that this run comes from a different factory and that they’re not warped. You can find out yourself for the fine price of $72.99…

The NYC car seems to be bent in a similar way. At first, I thought it could be an optical illusion due to distortion caused by the lens used on the camera, but the bend is slightly different among the photos.
Just a guess, but the bend is probably from assembling the car without a gig or assembly fixture. And, of course, poor quality control.
Not good for a car chasing $90 after taxes and shipping costs.

As a D&H fan and modeler I welcome the model of its only depressed center flat. Assembled at Oneonta, NY, from a GSC kit in June 1958, it was originally painted black with white lettering. COMW is doing it as repainted red with yellow lettering when shopped in May 1973, as shown in a photo Jack Wright made in Schenectady in February 1992, on p. 105 of the D&H Color Guide to Freight and Passenger Equipment, which he co-wrote with Jim Odell, Jeffrey Martin and Gardiner Cross in cooperation with the Bridge Line Historical Society, published by Morning Sun Books in 1997.
As in the first run of similar cars, there are numerous detail variations between the models lettered for different railroads.

And that’s not counting the poor rolling quality. Steve

I bought a COMW Erie depressed center flat from the first run. I was able to deal with the warp, following instructions provided by the firm. I do wish the firm would use actual Kadee semi-scale couplers; as I recall, substituting those for the semi-clones provided was a bit tricky.

I was lucky with my UP from the first run. It was straight as an arrow, but I did have to deal with the poor rolling. Steve

I thought about buying one of the ClassOne depressed center flat cars but waited until they were out and after seeing all of the bowing and warping issues took a pass. As it turns out I was able to pick up one of the last ExactRail depressed center flats on sale so that will have to do.

"El Galleon" Been waiting for the PC version of this car since they announced it. They are even doing the number I wanted! Then, I compared the prototype photo..to the model... And that's looking past the warped deck. Matt Herson Photo.

That appears to be a photo of the OTHER PC 766044.
But looking past the warped deck, as you note, is a really interesting loaded TTX car!
And, by the way, the deck on the prototype PC car really does seem to be sagging ("warped") from the weight of its load--the closer deck is very close to level with the eye, while you can see a bit of the top of the far deckk.
