I picked up what I thought was a mint Proto E7 last week and it's missing the entire rear coupler and mount.
Sunday night I picked up a rough Proto PA to use for parts for another PA I have here, and I see the couplers are similar, although I think they mount further in and might be too long to rob one for the E7.
Anyone know for sure, before I go try to dig out a PA instruction sheet and compare part numbers?

It's been years since I've changed couplers on a P2K. Yeah the first ones.
It wasn't difficult to put kadee 58's on and if I had to I used the kadee coupler "box" or whatever you would call it.

There's nothing to put the coupler on. There's a sort of L shaped bracket that swings the coupler mounts to. I was told Kadee has a kit that replaces it, but if the PA one will work it basically costs me nothing.

Kadee shows using a #23 if you look up on their site. The diagram was confusing to me.
I still had the Proto coupler box and I just put a whisker coupler in to replace the “NMRA” coupler and snapped the box back together. Still sitting on the bench in disarray so can’t confirm it’s successful operation.

Right, but somebody was in this thing and took the whole coupler box and whatever it mounts on off the engine.
A week later I happened to buy a beat up PA for parts, it has a similar coupler arrangement but I guess I will have to take it apart and see if it fits on there or not.
