Even though the layout that I have now is one of the best I've ever built, I still miss this little one. This one was fun. I actually had it designed so that two trains could be running continuously at the same time, in that the figure 8 was separate from the oval. It had it's drawbacks. The inner track was all 9 3/4 radius, and the outer track was 11 radius, and there was no way to hide it, but the biggest problem was the long reach due to being 3 feet wide and against a wall. If somebody had a place to run it as an island, it would make a great first or small area layout. I should mention that this was done in N scale.

A SP "Daylight" #4450 GS-4 on the elevated mainline east of San Marino. The Monterrey Mountains are in the background. I used the two decoder approach for installing motor and sound functions in this steamer; a Lenz mini silver decoder for motor functions and a Soundtraxx heavy steam micro sound decoder for sound functions. Both decoders and a mini oval speaker fit in the tender. Stay cool and run steam.........

From the recent archives, here's an overall shot of the Business District in Au Sable Forks on my N Scale Wilmington and New York Railroad. Progress is a little past this point at the moment. The missing steeple on the church is on purpose. My story is that they're fundraising for a new one after the old one was damaged.

Welcome to the forum Frank. Those of you who lay your own track, or even sections of track, awe me. When I was in HO, I attempted that a couple of times. My straight sections were mediocre, my curves were passable, but my turnouts were a nightmare. I finally gave up, and went back to sectional track. I'm really impressed with your turnouts.
