No finished pictures this week, but I took in process pictures of my U23b that will be painted for the PC. I followed an article by Jim Six on detailing a PC U23b, but Jim forgot that this class of U23b's had sun shades an item that was not usually included on NYC/PRR/PC locomotives. This class was ordered by the new PC President who came from the Southern Railway and included sunshades and had dual controls with the long hood designated as the front. I used the metal A-line sunshades and since the model did not have the channel for the sunshade I added a length of .012 wire to represent the channel. Rear end of the locomotive with grabs, cut lever, and plow installed, also drilled the class lights to provide base for the jewels to set in. Installed the grabs on this loco since the PC logo will fit without interferring with the grab, if it had been a different locomotive I would install the grabs later. Side view showing the GE Lift Rings installed in place of the cast on Lift Rings and a Cab Signal Box behind the cab, as the usual location in front of the engineer on the nose did not have enough room. Front view with grabs on nose, cut lever and plow, drilled holes for DA hoses to be installed after painting. Thanks for looking! Rick J

My office. I'm never there on Saturday or Sunday but I just put a new background up. The roundhouse now stocked with 765, 1225, 4449, 3751, 611, 844 and 3985. MTH made the 765, 4449, and 3985. BLI made the 3751 and 611. Athearn made the 844, and Bachmann made the 1225.

Nice work, everyone. Tim, I really like the use of staples to get the Caboose hand throw up out of the dirt for your crew's convenience. Beautiful line-up of IC locos, a hometown favorite. The track crew working on the Cascade Branch extension have reached the Lime Creek bridge crossing. Here are a few pics of that and the quickie scenery that was all the branch consisted of a few weeks back.

A couple of Minnesota Commercial engines got pretty lost and somehow ended up crossing Keddie Wye: A few weeks ago at BAPM I met a few members of the Sacramento Model Railroad Historical Society who said that I should stop by their club, even after I argued that my modeling did not particularly fit the "Sacramento" or "Historical" parts of their name. I stopped by and was able to run a few of my locomotives. Along with MNNR 307 and 316 (the latter of which derailed a few times, I'll have to go over that with an NMRA guage), I also brought a model of UP 1995, which I had only recently picked up.

Had a small disaster with Exchange Avenue this week; the warm weather that the UK has been experiencing has caused the rails to expand and buckle in the hopper discharge shed: So, I decided to change direction and make the Glass factory sidings into a loco servicing facility for my freelanced RailAmerica fleet that was in semi-retirement. The hopper discharge shed makes an excellent fuel/servicing building: A fuel storage tank and discharge pipe will be located in this area: The factory will now be non rail served and fenced off from the loco servicing area: More updates to come. Enjoy. Jez

Jim and Rick nice job on the shells. Going to be a nice PC U-23-B, I guess the dual control U boats are one of the Positive legacies of Mr. Moore's short period of influence at PC. Tim, a really impressive line up of engines. Like the mix of new and old colors. Looks really good. Bill

I really like the job that Atlas did on these U23B's. Just for your info Details West does make an etched metal window shade that comes with an etched metal channesl. It is part #365.
