Here's a few shots of a new scrap yard ive been messing with. Still a long way to go but its getting there slowly. Its hard getting that run down filth look of a scrap yard in model form! This is how it started out a few weeks ago. I had to release the facia and extend the bearrers to get a little more depth and width to the yard. Facia re attached, bench work extended. Security fencing fitted. The scratch built 'staith's' are yet to be painted. I have to weather up those large scrap metal dumpers....... Im still not satisfied with this scene, it still needs more work........ Thankfully the gates are straighter since i took that shot! Ive also been banding idea's around my head for a worthy load of scrap metal. Ive seen some great examples of home made scrap loads that are alot better than my effort but I thought this could represent a load of scrap sheared stainless steel sheet. Its just shredded alluminium foil.

Well Sunday is in full swing and I haven't seen a thread for this week. With Athearn's final delivery of the NS Heritage SD70ACes I thought I'd try my hand at outdoor photography and building a small diorama. I also updated my display case. I had a couple of photos I wanted to share so I will kick it off: Must be real nice to able to afford that lot eh??!! Not really. It's more of a sense of completion for me. I get this idea in my head of what I want to do with models when I pre order them. When I follow through with the idea and I see it realized it makes me happy

When I follow through with the idea and I see it realized it makes me happy I try stuff like that but it never usually happens! To many dam bills get in the way LOL I have managed to replace one of my U.P heritage units from Pesky MTH to Genesis though, Proto sound 3= never again!! First and last. Anyway, fair play James, a dam nice roster you have there man!

Anyway, fair play James, a dam nice roster you have there man! Yeah bills suck! Trust me I have them. Luckily no credit card debt but plenty of house, utilities, car, gas, food, food, FOOD, etc. Lol. My food bill is killing me it's like a Lamborghini payment so it seems. A family of four is pricey. I have plenty of dreams that aren't realized. Big layout because of moving, details of the layout because of moving, 100+ unit trains because of $, so trust me there are things I wish I could have too. There aren't too many modelers out there that say yep, I'm good I don't want ANYTHING. Even those that probably should not want anything. Good job on the UP heritage unit. I like the MTH sound ok, just the pesky snow plow and bulky detail bother me. But to each his own I guess.
