Hope everyone had a great week. Lots of small projects this week. Some photographers chartered one of the RGS Geese for a trip from Durango up to Red Mountain and back. Here's a pic shot at Silverton of Motor #5. Here the charter is passing through Chattanooga on the way back from Red Mountain. I spent some quality time with my hy-rail Unimogs, narrowing one to operate on the narrowgauge. Here's the difference, with lots more pics in my Unimog! thread at MR: cs.trains.com/mrr/f/88/t/202704.aspxAfter some mods, I decided I liked the front hy-rail wheels tucked underneath to give the front tires a better grip from a better approach angle when operating off-track. Here's the mostly finished Mog. Since I was feeling the hy-rail mojo, I modified a Details West hy-rail conversion kit to also run on 3'. Looking forward to seeing what else is going on.

Always good stuff from you, Mike! Nothing in the model world from me lately, but somebody sneaked up and parked this behind my car yesterday: Earlier today I caught this in the yard: It's pretty rare to see intermodal equipment in the yard I worked in last night, so this caught my eye. When the sun came up it really stuck out like a sore thumb. Hopefully I'll get some modeling done in the next week.

Always good stuff from you, Mike! Thanks, appreciate the comment! Nothing in the model world from me lately, but somebody sneaked up and parked this behind my car yesterday: Did you have it towed? Hmmmm, can't quite see the placarding enough, but maybe a solid-fuel missile segment?!?

Did you have it towed? Close. The morning hostler moved it after spotting the BN GP50 to the roundhouse. I was ready to head home so I didn't stay for that move. There really isn't much on it. It's a fuel tender, complete with MU connections and air hoses on each end. I believe it is for LNG fueled locomotives. We don't have any of those here that I know of, but we do have a GE plant, so maybe there's a connection. We have some of the old BN fuel tenders tucked away on another yard track. I should get a couple photos of those to go with this one.

Took a break from yard work to shoot models on Friday morning, it's been a great summer here! This is poseur, or foobie if you like. It's a slightly modified Eel River car standing in for a CB&Q Havelock, NE. built 60'RBL. D&RGW purchased 8 from the Q in July of '67 for Coors Beer service, at some point I'll get around to building a better model using the old Ambroid kit's plans....Till then. And a couple more of the Moloco 50'RBL

Are those other two tracks being dismantled? Only one rail each.

TBird, you weathering technique is right on the money. Those cars look great.
Nothing for me this week. Tried some simple airbrushing today and it didn’t go too great. Somehow I got solvent and water-based paints mixed together and that was just a mess.
Maybe something later in the week.
Great work all!

Very nice stuff. As for me, managed to get a little done on the new layout yesterday. The approach to the lower yard. Overall of the two bridges IMG_0032 by atsfsp, on Flickr

Nothing much for me. I did get LED head and ditch lights installed in this little gem. Enjoy, -Dave

A few photos from this week. As discussed in another thread, I threw a few modules together. The first module will be a maintenance facility for road/mechanical equipment for my EAY. The second is a warehouse scene. Beyond that, not much done except putting some sergents together. Maintenance Facility Warehouse
