Armco Steel E110 I've actually driven this locomotive. I was switching the station tracks and creeping along to make a joint when the Chicago & Northwestern local was on its way back to West Chicago.(CNW Belvedere Sub parallels IRM) The CNW engineer honked his horn and yelled at me "What ya goin' so slow for!" Critics.

Dan, cant wait to see it painted for ERIE !! Joe may not have produced too many kits, but He was afraid that someone would snipe the LS unit with a Plastic one. so far that hasn't happened yet. for a Review of the kit see RMC March 2009, pages 94-96 by Ken Goslet. Ken does mention filling in 2 extra cab windows that Erie didn't have. the 2 big end windows ? PaulC3, planning on Maybrook Yard ? have seen pics of the units there before New Haven retired them. danpik What did use to make the stack? It looks like the same kind as Santa Fe had on their ALCO S-2/S-4s. Several other RRs used that kind also. Having a few Santa Fe ones & not liking the stubby cylindrical ones on Atlas & Bachmann ALCO switchers, had Shapeways make 3' tall rectangular ones. They only sell them as a sprue of 16 so have a few left over. Your Lima model does look like a ALCO switcher though. Don't think Santa Fe had any Lima diesel switchers. Only thing on Google are some foobies for sale on eBay. LOL

As for the RR's that had these, the list that I know of includes the B&O, Erie(EL), New Haven, Nickel Plate, NY Central, Wabash and a couple others.

That's a sweet looking shell. I'm not that impressed. Sure, it's the only choice. And I would be sore tempted. But it's not that great. Not these days. Now, the prototype. Gosh almighty, I wish more had been sold. I do envy the folks who have an excuse to pick one up. Of all the early switchers, this one is the hottest. Pity those of us who are stuck with Alco's and EMD's. Sniff, Ed

For those of us who do not use Facebook, and especially past JJL customers, like myself, do you have any other means for us to find out what is going on with JJL?

Hmmm... sometime since I first looked at the page last night, and trying again this afternoon, it stopped asking me to log in to be able to look at it. I appreciate that- Thanks!

Well, After doing some digging around, I found out who the guys are who purchased the business. Turns out, they live about 10 miles from me. As I get more info, I will post it here.

Well, decals are done and dull coated. Just need to paint the yellow portions of the handrails and devise a couple of headlight lenses.

I think you did excellent work on the paint job, but is that the way the battery box comes from JJL? It seems like it's even with the side sill and I think it's supposed to be recessed a bit. The reason I ask is that I've always been interested in getting one of these, but something else always sucked the money out of my wallet first.

Yeah, that has bothered me a little. The box does seem to be a bit proud. I may pop them off and grind the backs down some

I came across this thread while researching for our re-designed model. Unfortunately this was one of the molds that we have to recreate, as well as figure out what we are going to do for the chassis. Any suggestions that anyone has to improve the model are welcome and will be considered.

Chris I have built a couple of these and currently still have this one. I sent you a private email. As a starting point this is a fairly good model. It does lack most of the signature stuff that the various roads used on them. The Erie units had a different window configuration on the back wall and also had full length railing along the hood of which neither are represented in the kit. Headlight options are also a must as they shell only has "holes" where the lenses should go. Dan
