Ryan, great job on the BN FMC covered hopper. Brad, the Farmhouse is fantastic, the combination of the weathered paint and the roof, make it a very eye catching model. T-Bird nice job on the centerflows, so are you going to build one of the cryogenic cars? or are you just teasing us. Rick, good luck on the Railyard kit. Bill
Thanks Bill,
Not sure that I'm up to a Bobby Pitts level build on the tanks, but we'll see. As I approached the grade crossing I was just surprised to see those two cars trailing a BN GP38.

Spent abou 4 hours sunday night into monday soldering these tony sissons knuckle holders and doing some other work. A few have to much solder in them, any ideas on how to remove to much solder? Also decided to add the marker lights that are seen on the 8800 series of Canadian National SD70M-2's since Athearn wont put a date on that release now, even though its over due by a year so parts for it wont be available either. I used some spare bug eye marker light castings from a cannon nose kit for the front. I carefully located where I wanted them and drilled out the athearn plastic to mount them. I will have to file down the inside corners of the marker housings just a tad to make them look straight. If standing above them the angles are slightly off. The prototype im loosly following, basically any 8800's series im using for reference since my undec was a CN version but the 8000 series. I also started to graft on some styrene to build up the rear portion of where the market lights sit. This was a pita. I couldn't just ad the bug eye pieces due to teh angle of the rear long hood end and the angle of hte bug eye's. So i started standing down some styrene. I got it to the best i could. I'll need some filler hear and there. But the but eye lights will not be used, i'll use another set for the rear since the mounting area is going to be flat. prototype After looking at those 2 pics, i may just use the bug eye marker housings and just file or trim them near flat.

Walthers Lancaster Farmhouse kit that I built and weathered to look like an abandoned farm house. Brad, that's a really interesting and well-done structure. I also appreciate you sharing these great photos because it's hard to get a good look at the model in the small photo on the Walthers website. I'm planning to model rural central Maryland somewhere down the road, and I haven't spent much time looking for models of houses and other common structures yet, beyond the rail-served industries that I plan to model. This looks like a good one to add to the collection that could probably be modified slightly to match some old homes in my area. Dave

Nice job, Ryan. Will you weather it, or will it stay clean (or freshly shopped) ? Pierre BARBE Decals are done on the first of my MDC/Roundhouse 4700cf covered hopper projects, C&S 458927:

Thanks, Pierre. It will be weathered to match this photo: The one I'm working on now, along with the one I just finished, will appear pretty new since both will be in the reporting marks only scheme.
