I saw one hobby shop I am on the mailing lists notified me by email that the Athearn DDA40X's are ready to ship. I can't afford them nor are they part of my modeling schema but I expect these are lovely engines.

In the case you cited, the company would have to start over on the project and hope for some kind of money from the insurance. That could bankrupt some small importers. That is an interesting point, is this type of cargo insured? Larry I remember a decade and a half ago, a container with Kato Mikadoes was lost overboard in a storm. The load was insured, but it still set Kato back. The time involved to get paid the insurance money and set up another run with the manufacturer could be months since production runs are scheduled along with other products. The schedule to get something into the process can be a year or more if the factory is running at full capacity. Larry
