Guys and gals I'm back and the wife and I had a blast. The year of planning and all the effort was a big success. The train trips, Seattle... it was all good.

Sounds like a roaring success. Details on your Amtrak experience when you get caught up, please.

I'm on it, need to finish uploading all the pic's. The rail trip was a big part of this whole trip and we both loved it. It was her first rail trip and now we both are planning the next one maybe even just to ride the rails there and back kind of trip.

So it's 5:40am on Valentines day and we board our train here in San Diego bound for L.A. Our train is hidden between these two. We are sitting business class for this leg. Once the sun comes up the picture in the windows is always changing. We get into L.A. and it's time to switch trains to the Coast Starlight #14. We leave the Surfliner.

Great stuff, Scotty. Was that fog or smog?
Those Amtrak GE's are some honking big B-B units.
