I was in a train store recently. Another customer was chatting with the counter man. He asked about Exactrail cars and the prop said he had only a few cars left in the store and that Exactrail had moved to direct sales only. The customer exclaimed that he couldn't buy direct and have items mailed, since he would not be able to sneak in the items past Momma like he could from a store purchase............ I got a laugh over that one..............

I got a laugh over that one.............. Well!!! Almost guilty! I normally have my brass shipments on hold at the local UPS for almost the same reason. Calling attention to the fact models are showing up weekly and multiple shipments can only be problematic sooner or later in any relationship. I cannot say to her we should not purchase that right when we are shopping Dear if I have received two 8500 Turbines that week and she has looked at the receipt! You just cannot go back and retract the shipments since they are fresh in her mind. This type of comment has already cost me for a new 2012 300hp Impala this year with the 6 speed auto! It was easier to get what she was looking for than to explain any costs of recent purchases. I don't slip them by my wife as she really is a great person and does not care in general that I like model trains. I received some items recently by the USPS since they just leave them by the door and she did not even ask what I had received since it had to be a train! Larry

Wow, I can usually get away with a nice dinner and a night on the town after a package arrivers from Baltimore. I gotta keep my wive away from yours! Bill Bill I never ask others to dine out with us for that very reason!!! I used to take her to train shows now and then just to see her reaction to the sale items. I purchased one of the Live Steam Aster Daylights # 1 scale back in the day when they came out, 1988 I believe. She did see the price of that since we picked it up together. However, I sold it for a tidy sum in the summer of 1997 so she knows the value of having rare items and selling them also. I never really hide any of the major items from her but I am careful of the prices being too easy to read. Wifes do talk about costs of hobbies so I just avoid other people who are in the hobby at least in social circles. Larry

Personally speaking I would never put up with a dominate and brawling woman..They're just not worth it.

Easy fix... get your stuff sent to work. Even tho I'm a bachelor that's what i do, seeing as I don't trust things being left in front of my apartment door...

I too have stuff sent to the office. It is safer and stealthier. Not sure what I will do when I retire.

I too have stuff sent to the office. It is safer and stealthier. Not sure what I will do when I retire. There are ways to sneak things into the house without the missus knowing. I never had that problem except around her birthday,Christmas or our anniversary. I just waltz right in carrying my latest model. Of course we never hid purchases(other then the above times) from each other and had our own "me money". There was no "boss britches" in our marriage and that worked beautifully for us.
