I think I might have to pick up that BN set. I sacrificed one of my old Walthers centerbeams and cut it up to make it a 63 footer. I got it ready for paint about a month before the ExactRail announcement and still haven't made progress on it. I also have a couple old MDC bulkheads I really need to detail and repaint for BN. So far, I've used the old Herald King set for those projects. It will be nice to have a cleaner decal sheet.

When doing the BN centerbeam, bulkhead, flatcar sheet i noticed there are THREE paint variations of the thrall centerbeam. Fortunately you will be able to all three with the decal sheet. It will be handy to have as i think the ER car will probably come initially in one scheme. I also added the keyholes as a decal for the FR car. This will give you the ability to replicate the tiedown slots on the FR car that have been lacking. Chris P. BTW its so nice to just be able to respond to you all in this thread unlike the old atlas forum.

Chris - Always great to see new decal sets coming out. Thanks for continuing to bring us both new and revised sets. I know Family Lines and Seaboard System are two of the least popular Southeastern paint schemes, but it would be great if you could consider offering decals for those two covered hopper paint schemes eventually. There are so many survivors with both original and CSXT reporting marks that it would be great to have decals to model them Thanks again for keeping the decals coming, Chris! Dave Great suggestions, thank you Dave

I generally don't find the differences until I'm in the middle of a decal project! I agree that it's nice to have a dialogue with the mfr's rep. vs. just the announcement. Thanks for all you do to keep us doing our own paint and decal work.

Guys, Just to better illustrate what I'm referring to in 87-1381 Style 1 - LOADING AND UNLOADING INSTRUCTIONS = 2x2Lines, No "SAFETY FIRST" data Style 2 - LOADING AND UNLOADING INSTRUCTIONS = 2x3Lines + "SAFETY FIRST" data Style 3 LOADING AND UNLOADING INSTRUCTIONS = 3x2 Lines + "SAFETY FIRST" data You can model all three depending on ur proto...Plus Thrall Bulkheads...Plus Thrall Flatcars Chris P

Hey Chris, When is Micro-Scale going to remember that us Z scalers would like some decals too? Z-scale is going to require a different approach and more research/development to find a good balance between lots of itty bitty data, and what the majority of z-scale modelers are willing to go through to decal something. I'm just not sure how many z-scale modelers are willing to cut up a number jumble and place on the model 6 individual numbers for the road number on the sides and ends of a freight car. As a company we want our product to be accessible to the widest range of modelers from novice to advanced. The smaller the decal pieces the more intensity goes into placing and handling. Z-scale will be available when the time is right and initially with select sets that correspond with z-scale readily available models. Chris Palomarez
