intermountain-railway.com/autorackdetails.htmOctober starts tomorrow! I am looking forward to seeing these in person. I hope they look as good at the top picture. I will maybe get a few to put in the front of the train as building a large fleet of these is ____________. Besides what would I do with the Walther's cars I have.........

They do look nice from the pre-prod photo's. I already have 13 or 14 of Walthers but the TTX speed logo versions are too new for my pre-1991 time frame so I'm selling those. It looks like the IMR racks will cover mostly post 1991 versions as well unfortunately for me.
Which version of IMR pre-date 1990? The late 70's through late 80's is still a niche for autoracks that needs to be filled for HO modelers.

I picked up a ton of Herald King Trailer Train decals at a show years ago and decided to backdate the offending rack. It actually turned out pretty good. So, if you're not too keen on giving those racks away cheap, just redo a couple decals per side.

I have around a dozen on order and dread to open the box when it arrives after they get shipped from IM, lol. I dont have a good track record with FedEx as something is always damaged. I feel like the package never makes it to a truck but instead gets tossed out the plane over my house, lol.

Rch,
That is an option, reletter to Trailer Train ... I'll take that under consideration. The Walthers cars are adquate for my needs, certainly at the replacement cost of a new IMR car!

That is an option, reletter to Trailer Train ... I'll take that under consideration. With the price on these models, I would personally hold out for a third or fourth run (which I have no doubt are coming eventually) and wait for Intermountain to offer those earlier paint schemes. I don't think it's worth paying that much only to have to re-letter the car when you're undoubtedly going to see the factory paint job offered down the road. If you absolutely have to have it now, I can understand that, but... I'm not sure how many I'm going to shell out the money for on this first run. I'd like to buy 30 or more, but over the course of several years / runs, not right up front. Dave

According to my local dealer, sounds like the end of the month before we will see them. I would not dump my Walthers cars yet, just supplement with these. Here's hoping they look good. The pre-production pictures look pretty decent.
