Right off facebook... Gene Fusco is going to work for Intermountain. Gene of Rail Yard Models - the finest resin kits anybody ever produced... in design, execution, accuracy, and supplied documentation. Unfortunately Gene discontinued production a few months ago and sold off his inventory. So it looks like he's getting back into the game with Intermountain. Both IM and Gene confirm this in facebook posts. Not sure what this might mean for IM but it certainly can't hurt. They've got one of the best people out there now - they just need to turn him loose and do what he says Too late to save the Toosh Dah projects but... really, who cares? I have no interest in anybody's SD40-2 unless Athearn plans to crank one out that is equal to their forthcoming GP38-2. Or somebody else wants to get in the game on that level. I know it would have been nice if the Canadian version had turned out better, since it's at least unique. Andy

That's awesome news - can't wait to see what Gene comes up with at IMRC. He's both a great guy and an excellent modeler and researcher.

So does this mean we might see some Rail Yard Models offered in the future. There are definitely a few models I could use - the did an accurate D&RGW gondola for example.

I wouldn't get your hopes up to high.....Rail Yard Models never produced a D&RGW gondola. They did make a very accurate Penn Central gondola though.

Sounds like you might be thinking of Modeler's Choice - the guys who made the laser-cut, flat styrene kits that used Red Caboose car ends and other parts. Dave

Rail yard's Mopac transfer style road caboose is a terrific kit, unbelievable for a resin kit. If that wandered into production it would be welcome, as would a the similar UP CA-11

Dave Darn, yes, I mixed up Modelers choice with RYM. Oh well. BTW, I looked at the Modelers Choice website and they don't seem to have any freight car kits listed, only decks and parts. According to Jim Eager, the following are correct for D&RGW: - Modeler's Choice is doing a kit for the 30220-30244 Darby 65-footers - Modeler's Choice is planning kits for 56100-56124 & 56125-56274 series, 56275-56374 series, and 56375-56424 series Thralls, and possibly the 56425-56474 ICCs and 56000-56009 Gundersons.
