Anyone have an "under the hood" photo of the Rapido FP9? I'm wondering how difficult it would be to add sound later to the non-sound version, or even add a plain DCC decoder.

Here is a photo of the chassis (if the attachment button works). The functionality of the DC version (lighting, especially) is severely restricted compared to the sound/DCC version. You will probably want to forget about using the DCC plug and hard wire a decoder or sound decoder in there so you can take advantage of more of the lighting effects. There is plenty of room. Of course, any after-market sound decoder you use will not sound as cool as ours.... -Jason Attachments:

Thank you Jason.
I was interested in a chassis shot too.
Any idea when the zebra striped units will be hitting the shore?
Best Regards, Pete

There is plenty of room. -Jason Thanks Jason. I'm happy to see you made the model dcc and sound friendly. I ordered some of each version, but will be adding a dcc decoder as a minimum. So many other manufactures assume that if you purchase a non-sound version that you won't be adding a decoder or sound at a later point. Ryan

Still patiently waiting for undecs!
Also, Jason, does the custom Rapido Tsunami come with other horns? The prototype I intend to paint my FP9s into has K5LAs.... actually, the same (Conway Scenic) engine that you recorded the sounds in! They were traded to Pan Am Railways and I model that road!
