I found the other car I was looking for - the PRR Silver Rapids sleeper - at a shop in Florida that I've heard of but don't know much about - G&C Hobbies (hopefully none of you have had bad experiences with them...). They had a good price on the car, so I'm hoping it won't turn out to be out of stock or something.
I'd like to add HEP connections and other minor modifications to these cars for service during the Amtrak era and will occasionally tack them on the rear of my Capitol Limited just for fun.

The CB&Q used E5 A & B's, E7A's, E8A's and E9A's on the CZ over the course of the train's history. The Q's E7's and E8's had units some units with painted side panels and others with stainless steel. All the E9's had stainless steel side panels. A typical CZ power lash-up on the Q consisted of two or three E-units usually running elephant style. So having a three E8's or E9's or a combination of the two models is totally prototypical. You left out the F3's. When the train first debuted, CB&Q bought three sets of A-B-A passenger F3's to pull the train, numbered 9960ABC-9962ABC. They lasted into the mid 50's in that service, but were eventually regeared and repainted for freight service, though they kept their original passenger unit numbers.

You never know what you will find in shops and shows. I picked up a Athearn WP Genesis FP7a f7b set this year at 50% off on clearance. Didn't need it, but what the heck. Just minor box wear and tear. I have found many Athearn F units poking around stores and shows.
