The project is almost complete but I have found some interior pictures in color and discovered two more details to add to the interior. This has been a fun project but costly. The passengers and kit cost more than the car. I plan on doing the diner and some coach cars when the kits for those are available. Larry This picture shows the car with the defusers installed. The amount of light is much better but a darker color could be used if someone wanted to darken the light more. 6

Well done, it looks very nice. Looks like a lot of work.
Did you do the lights yourself or are those Walthers light kits?

It is a lot of work and is trial and error in a few places, but the kit is well worth buying. I probably went overboard on the number of passengers but the lounge is the most viewed. I purchased the Walthers kit and wired the extra led to light up the lower level. I have a burn in time of several hours now on the car with track DCC voltage with no problems with the extra load. The Walthers kit only lights the top of the car except for the rear car with the drumhead. It is really way too bright and I will remove the cover on the board of led's and insert a defuser into each led. They produced the long board with eight or so smt led's and it has a plastic type curved cover that runs the entire length of the car. I removed the cover on one end so it is removable and pops back into place. I have some material that will defuse the brightness to a much lower point. I do plan on doing more cars and will try this out before I install it in this car. Larry

I don't have any photos but have lit the drumhead and the red light on the tail car with a DIY light board I made and some fiber optics.
As far as little people count, I'd only hope their waiter is close.

O U T S T A N D I N G ! ! !Congratulations Larry. Those pictures are GREAT. Looks so good that I can almost hear the dishes clanging and muffled conversations of the passengers. If I look real close, I can not only smell the bacon, but I can see the coffee swaying just a bit in their cups as the El Cap approaches a gentile left curve. Thank you for sharing.

The kit makes the detail fairly easy and the overall look is very nice. I did find two interior Lounge car pictures to work with and discovered some detail that was left out of the kit. \ The upper level lighting has one more change to dim it down but the lower level is just about correct. The diner should be very interesting with plates and food on the table tops so that will be fun. Larry

Larry,
Outstanding work and I enjoyed seeing your photos. We've sure come a long way in this hobby. Just a suggestion: Forward your photos to Walthers and for that matter, contact MRR magazine. Looks like this would be a good candidate for a "Customer Review" article!
