Hi everyone, I wired a KD #309 up today, it's wired correctly according to the diagrams, BUT when I plug it in..... WITHOUT pressing the SPST button, it uncouples. whenever I PUSH the button, it stops the current from flowing to the machine. I used the Kadee #166 16.5vac transformer for it and I used the bridge rectifier. I tried it without the rectifier and with it. Tried switching wires around thinking they may have been on backwards, but no go. How can I get this thing to run right??
Thanks, Cody

It sounds like the switch is bad or perhaps the wrong one. The switch should not have current flowing through it unless the button is pushed. You can test it with an ohm meter. Is this the Kadee switch?
I would think it is the wrong switch.

Looking at the Kadee site, you need switch #165...red, normally open, momentary.

If I can't use these 4 for the KD's, what can I use them for?? That's a good question. I can't think of anything that would use that type of switch. I'm sure there is some type of accessory that does, but I don't know what.

If I can't use these 4 for the KD's, what can I use them for?? A panic button, or series of them, for the track power to the layout. If you see a disaster starting, hit the panic button to stop the trains.
