It sounds like the Photobucket CEO who decided to make most forum archives useless, has been fired, and the new management has reactivated all the old picture links. I think the damage has been done for Photobucket. I know I have moved on, but at least our Archives are useful again. For now......

That's great news. So many old threads have been useless without the embedded images. The process of updating those old threads is overwhelming for most people so it simply isn't done.

Huge news. I wasn't able to access photobucket on some computers. The app is useless. They had gotten rid of the download link for your folders to download all the pics instead made it downloadable for single pics.

I didn't happen to notice any notification emails but I did happen to check my PB account last week and discovered I could access my photo's where as before, apparently without paying, I could only see small thumbnails.
I took some time to down load some photo's and plan on grabbing more while I can.

Ill try again, but within the last 2 weeks when I saved images from ‘my’ account the image links were blacked out. Looked like an FBI document after an FIOA request. Well, it took $1.99 from my paypal but won’t, so far, let me copy a link using my iPad. Ill try PC later... Later is here....
Here a fine quartet of 1960s Hobbytown Alcos roll out of Red Butte on Bruce Chubb's Sunset Valley Oregon System. I operate there on a regular basis.
Nice too the photos in the Bucket have survived.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I still find that 'saving' a photobucket image to my files does not work??

I haven't tried to save any new photo's to my PB account, but since the have opened things back up I've been pulling photo's off and moving them bit by bit to my alternate/replacement host.

Looks like Flickr has decided to follow Photobucket - putting a cap on 1k photos for the free accounts and charging if you want the 1Tb of storage. For more information go to Flickr's homepage.

Flickr has had a pay side for many, many years. I have had it for the better part of 10 years at this point. Its 4$ a month, and you get unlimited storage, and the ability to have folders, etc. Well worth it. And no BS advertising either. Much better site then photobucket ever was.
No issue paying for what is essentially unlimited cloud storage. I dont understand the uproar. Not everything can be free.
