Would a NCE DA-SR work in a Proto 1000 Erie Built?

Should work just fine - lots of room to work with inside.
Mark.

Yes and No. The DA-SR is a full board replacement. The TCS article's comemts about bulbs is appropriate. Using the DA-SR will require some resistance if using the factory bulbs. Bob

^^^ Would LED's work better? I don't believe the DA-SR has direct support for LEDs, You would need to add resistors. However, the lighting would be better with LEDs. Bob

I don't believe the DA-SR has direct support for LEDs, You would need to add resistors. However, the lighting would be better with LEDs. Newer versions of the DA-SR (from 2009 and later) have built-in resistors so that you can directly-drive LEDs from them.
The documentation PDF I found on the NCE site appears to be for the earlier v3.5 version (c. 2003) that doesn't have those resistors. The DA-SRs in my decoder drawer have them.

Why would NCE not update their website? ? Bob
