I was known as Kodiakmodeler while living in Kodiak, Alaska. I was into N scale, and loved it, but it got too hard for me to handle with my aging fingers.
My wife died in May of 2017 and I retired from my career as a landscape photographer and moved to the lower 48, starting in a couple of places in Utah
(Salt Lake City and South Jordan), before moving here to Hemet, California. I'm staying with my sister while finalizing things in Kodiak.
Since I'm not settled yet, I'm just working on a temporary switching layout in HO scale.
I took a lot of in progress photos of the N scale layout, which were of questionable quality, and have since photoshopped them into
'real world' settings. Those I will be sharing with the N scale board. I'll also be sharing photos of the layout that I'm currently
building; those will be seen on the HO scale forum. I will offer a warning that my inside photography skills do not come
close to those of my outside professional photos, but at least they will show what I'm working on.
I'm really encouraged to see the forum alive and active. It's great to be back. While living in Alaska, I was known as Kodiak Island Modeler
or Kodiakmodeler, depending on how many letters the forum would allow in the handle. That somehow seemed most inappropriate for someone
living in southern California, so I compromised, keeping my memory of Alaska, but moving on, I shortened the handle to KIM, although it still seems to be recognizing me as Kodiakmodeler; no big deal.
