Helping A Young Gent Get Into Scale Modeling

A neighbor's son, who is 15, built their first plastic scale model, with a little help from myself. The model is a 1/25th scale Peterbilt 359 36" conventional sleeper tractor. The kit is from Revell. I did the bulk of the painting, but I did cut junior loose on the air brush, with tutoring from me, to do some solid color parts and they came out okay. I painted the body and it kicked my butt as did the decals which are more like blankets than decals. Even Walthers Solvaset didn't do a lot of budging. 

Mistakes were made along the way, by the young man and myself. I haven't dabbled in a large scale like 1/25th in a long long time and I forgot how large it can be. Next up is the trailer, gotta have a trailer for the tractor, and another tractor and trailer.

Outstanding job--particularly for a first timer. I used to build a ton of 1/25th scale autos with my best friend 55 years ago. Our models did not turn out as nice, but then we did not have the tools. etc. that we use today.
