Not sure if he had had a helmet on if it would have saved his life.
I will miss Roadkill around here.

As a long-time rider, I am very sorry to hear this, and I hope his family is doing well.
It is worth remembering that in recent years, more than a third of all motorcycle fatalities have been people over the age of 50, while the total number of deaths has remained relatively unchanged. About a third of the deaths occur in single-vehicle accidents like the one mentioned. I quit riding and sold my last motorcycle a few years ago because traffic in my area pretty much ignores bicycles and motorcycles.
If you drive, keep an eye open for bikes; if you ride, be very defensive and aware of your surroundings.

Wow, sad news. I still ride, but only dirt bikes. This kind of accident happens way too much.
RIP

Very sad news. Roger will be missed.
Massachusetts requires everyone on a motorcycle (and also all minors riding bicycles) to wear a helmet. New Hampshire does not require motorcyclists to wear helmets. I saw quite a few people on motorcycles without helmets in southern Maine July 1; I don't know what the law there is. There's a very active motorcyclists' group in the town where I live that supports worthy charitable causes.

Wow, I am shocked. I have not seen anything from him in a week or so and this explains it.
He was a biker, I am a road cyclist, and whether one has a motor or not, the wide open road has a strong call and clearly he was enjoying being on the bike. The "road" is also unforgiving and populated with drivers "unimpressed" with the presence of two-wheelers of any sort.
RIP Harley brother.

Second model railroader to be lost to motorcycles in recent history, Dennis aka CWRailman from AZ, active contributor to Railroad-Line Forum. and now Mr. Cox. Sad news for all.

Sad news. He was always friendly and helpful, and I always valued his insights into HO scale modelling where vehicles were concerned. I wonder why he chose his forum handle.

The handle, strangely prophetic. Roadkill was always friendly and we enjoyed some of the same things as well. He will be missed.
