I'll give this a late kick to see if I can get it started. Nothing terribly new from me, I took these outside last fall on a decent mid-wisconsin day.

^ Excellent CP WIPs! ex-SOU CP 5400?? I counted the rivets on one a few years ago, lots of tiny SOU details kept me on my toes: Yes, CP 5485 in black. It seems to be one of the (if not the only) one that didn't lose it's horn/antennas/cab interior etc. Or at least that's what it looks like in the pictures I've found. B ased on that, it theoretically it could have led in a pinch if CP didn't have a policy against that. At least, that's gonna be my story when I put it in the lead every once in a while. Love the chop - P2K starting point? Walthers Mainline actually. I would assume it's based on the old P2K though. It came factory chopped, so I've actually had to do very little work to it so far; mostly just detail parts. I've got build threads for both of these going over at the Diesel Detailer, if anyone's interested.

Sounds good. Don't forget the distinctive walkway lights and MU stands.
I wondered how close the Walthers Mainline model was to the CP units. For some reason the short hood didn't seem right to me and of course the steps and handrails are not correct for CP.
I'll check out your builds on DD.

Looks like you have a good start on the two CP Rail locomotives. After months of procrastination as well as working on non-model railroad projects, I pulled out a Walthers "Mainline" 60' flatcar for a "quick & dirty" project. Improvements were limited to adding the brake rod that runs outboard of the truck on the B-end, cut levers (Plano), some unidentified air hoses, and Kadee "scale" couplers. I had hoped that the not-so-local hobby shop in which I picked the flatcar up still had some of the container flats but no such luck. However, they did have something almost as scarce - an Atlas FMC 5503 boxcar in Southern Pacific.

I like the CP GP9U! I need to make one of my own. I have a Kaslo Shops CP GP9U kit mostly built but progress hit a brick wall when the "drop fit on P2K chassis" statement in the instructions didn't prove true. I need to figure out some way to mill/grind down the weight under the battery boxes and short hood to get the shell to fit. By that time Bowser will probably formally announce their version...
