It's hard now to even imagine what it was like taking pictures and not knowing how they'd be until they were developed. You want to cry, I bought a box of old slides and found about five Afgachromes of steam from around 1950 and all taken on such a red cast I don't know you can save them as color pictures. What I see old slides selling for if they were nice they'd have been stupid money. Old photos can be salvaged to a certain point with Photoshop or equivalent photo editing programs. Even if the color shifts and fading are overwhelming, there is still detail information that can be invaluable. When I see the rate at which "railroady" stuff is disappearing, photos and home movies become all that more valuable. Between the tax man and the accursed "Precision Scheduled Railroading", what will be left in a few years will be little more than soulless track with automated trains running only the highest traffic routes. Always alwaye always SAVE any photos you can. Keep them cool, dry and dark. Digitize where possible, but archive the originals. Future generations will thank you.

That's because they used up all the paint doing the SP&S version. Have you considered modelling the Lehigh Valley? Rapido does their RS11 in LV... I had a look on ebay the other night and very glad I ordered none. They're not moving. Which is what I predicted from them running the "as delivered to LV" numbers on them. It's taken a year but finally my LV RDC's are the least expensive on eBay. They're still not selling either, but the watch count and hits have picked up. Honestly, besides the RS11's, I think some of the FA's are or were slow sellers because there were issues with the attachment of the screens, and then some glue marks on the models. I had one, but eventually sold it in favor of Via Rail FPA-4's. The screens on those are attached differently, and the end result looks better than what some of the LV units unfortunately look like. I'm living close enough to LV country, where they would sell, and have seen too many that I personally would not buy, despite the fact that, generally speaking, I love Rapido products.
Sadly, the SP&S colors on the FA did not turn out well.
Seems they are missing a bit too much.

The LV FAs I got sold on ebay but the buyer didn't seem to have much interest in a B so I passed.
I had them at a lot of shows with very little attention but that's not unusual, people don't like to spend that kind of money cash in person.
