Wow, you guys are great. I would like to thank all 7500 views to this thread and especially the following individuals who offered support and encouragement through your many comments and likes in this thread. Apologies for the alphabetical (vs ranked) sorting, any typos and to anyone I missed:
The final photo of this build (unless there are further questions posted here) shows CP 434071 with a few peers in the Display Case Central. I won't store this in the box just yet as I wish to enjoy my recent projects when in the display room.
I signed up so I could read this thread. What an awesome build! I’ve wanted to do one of these in N scale for ages but haven’t got around to it. I plan to follow steps very similar to your method. Would be willing to share additional measurements that you used?
SD40dash2, it was great following this build. The end result is a very nice model that I am sure you will have years of fun operating with or simply looking at it in your caboose collection. Either way it is great.
I am currently working on a couple out of the box undecorated Atlas cupola cabooses. Nothing like what you did with scratch building. But there is something about cabooses that is fun. That finishing touch to the end of your train. The most intense thing I am doing is adding blinking red lights at each end. It will still be fun.
