I just saw this on MRR Trains.com
According to the article, "Neil Besougloff, editor of Model Railroader from June 2007 to June 2017, passed away on July 26 from complications related to COVID-19. He was 61 years old."
Apparently, he moved to Puerto Vallarta after he retired from Kalmbach Publishing.
Too young to go. My sympathies to his family.

Yes too young. As I recall, he was pushed out at MR magazine; those who were aware of it at the time had mixed emotions about it, mostly of the negative kind. From reports in the general MR forum, he was in the hospital with pretty serious symptoms and then had turned the corner and was starting to improve. But a fatal heart attack took him and he was unable to be revived.
Sad ending for a guy who some felt was a positive influence at the magazine.

Today, I had my annual cardiological physical. I mentioned to my cardiologist that I knew of someone who succumbed to a heart attack brought on by COVID-19, which was the description of Neil's cause of death. My cardiologist was skeptical that COVID would induce a heart attack, but said that a more likely COVID related cause of death could be an auto-immune response such as thrombosis. In the absence of an autopsy, a thrombosis related death could appear to be a heart attack.
