I see the NorthWestern C628's are out. Does anyone have any opinions?
Thanks.

They’re pretty decent models in my opinion. They also did a nice job with the paint on the Zito Yellow units. The horns and beacons on them are crap, but that is an easy fix luckily.

Very nice model. They are an improvement over my other two Bowser units (U25B & C636) and have more sound options. The paint color is spot on.

I have an SP C-628. It's a beautiful runner. I am quite happy with it.

I know the CNW got the Alco's from the N&W . When did they get them and when did the CNW get rid of them ? --- Thanks, Ken

When did they get them and when did the CNW get rid of them ? --- Thanks, Ken They were acquired in 1973 and the first to go was #6705 which was cannibalized for parts at the Lakeshore Div HQ in Green Bay, WI as early as the summer of 1975. The C&NW ran them until late 1986 at which time they were stored in the ore yard in Escanaba, MI for several years with faint hopes that they might some day be sold but that day never came and they were ultimately scrapped.

Imagine if the old locos were saved and built into an "Alcohenge" memorial for the ages... www.roadpickle.com/wp-content/uploads/carhenge.jpgIt would have been glorious.

Carhenge is depressing given the cars used to build it.
